For the opening concert of our 2025 / 2026 season we were once again joined by Bury Choral Society in a concert with an American theme, which began with An Outdoor Overture by Aaron Copland – born 125 years ago. The beautiful Adagio for strings / Agnus Dei followed, composed by Samuel Barber – born 110 years ago – before Bury Choral Society’s pianist Jonathan Ellis performed Gershwin’s iconic and ground-breaking Rhapsody in Blue. The second half of the concert showcased the third of Coleridge-Taylor’s Hiawatha triology, Hiawatha’s Departure – premiered 125 years ago.
NOTE – This concert is a past event!
